Gonda: District Magistrate Priyanka Niranjan chaired a review meeting at the Collectorate Auditorium to assess preparations for the successful observance of International Yoga Day on June 21, 2026. Officials from various departments participated in the meeting, where detailed discussions were held to ensure the event is organized in a grand, systematic, and participatory manner.
During the meeting, the District Magistrate issued necessary instructions to all concerned departments and emphasized the importance of coordinated efforts to ensure smooth execution of the programme.
Directing Dr. Indrajeet, District Ayurvedic and Unani Officer, the District Magistrate announced that a week-long rehearsal programme leading up to International Yoga Day will commence on June 15, 2026, at Chetna Park, Civil Lines, Gonda, from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. She instructed officials to encourage maximum public participation and complete all required arrangements well in advance.
The District Magistrate further informed that the district-level main Yoga Day event will be organized on June 21, 2026, from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. at Police Lines, Gonda. She directed concerned departments to ensure timely arrangements for cleanliness, drinking water, medical assistance, security, seating facilities, public address systems, and other essential amenities at the venue.

Highlighting the significance of yoga, Priyanka Niranjan said that yoga is the foundation of a healthy lifestyle and plays a vital role in improving both physical and mental well-being. She urged all departments to work in close coordination and make dedicated efforts to ensure the success of the event.
The review meeting was attended by Chief Development Officer Dayanand Prasad, Chief Medical Officer Dr. Santlal Patel, Circle Officer (Sadar) Shilpa Verma, Project Director DRDA Sushil Kumar Pandey, DSTO N.K. Singh, District Panchayat Raj Officer Lal Ji Dubey, DC NRLM J.N. Rao, DC MGNREGA Janardan Prasad, all Block Development Officers, and officials from various departments.
The district administration expects large-scale public participation in the upcoming celebrations, reinforcing the message of wellness, fitness, and holistic health through yoga.
