Sambhal/Lucknow: A police inspector posted at the Cyber Police Station in Lucknow has been booked following the complaint of a widow from Sambhal district, who accused him of intimidation, abuse, and harassment. The FIR was registered on the directions of the Superintendent of Police (SP), Sambhal.
According to police sources, the complainant, Reena, a resident of Akbarpur Gehra village in Asmoli police station area, alleged that she has been raising her four daughters alone since the death of her husband, Omveer, six years ago. She stated that she earns a living through daily wage work to support her family.
In her complaint to the SP, Reena alleged that her brother-in-law, Rovin, serves as a constable in the Uttar Pradesh Police, while her cousin-in-law, Sulendra alias Sonu, is an inspector currently posted at the Cyber Police Station in Lucknow.
The woman claimed that certain family members wanted her and her daughters to leave the family home. She further alleged that Inspector Sulendra had been exerting pressure on her and had threatened her over the phone. According to the complaint, the inspector allegedly used abusive language and warned her to vacate the house during a phone conversation on April 27, 2026.
Reena also claimed to possess an audio recording of the alleged conversation and accused the officer of attempting to influence and intimidate her by leveraging his position in the police department.

The complainant stated that she had earlier approached the Asmoli police station with her grievances, but no action was taken. Subsequently, she sought intervention from the district police chief.
Acting on the SP’s directions, Asmoli police registered an FIR against Inspector Sulendra alias Sonu, a resident of Hasanpur village in Moradabad district’s Pakbara police station area.
Police officials said that an investigation has been initiated and the allegations mentioned in the complaint will be examined as part of the inquiry. Authorities have not yet issued any official statement regarding the merits of the allegations, and the case remains under investigation.
The registration of the FIR marks the beginning of legal proceedings, and officials emphasized that conclusions will be drawn only after a thorough probe into the matter.
