Care was taken to complete the training at a fast pace
Keeping in mind the interest of the girls studying in KGBV, efforts were made to complete their training soon. Under the direction of Minister of State for Basic Education Sandeep Singh, three guide units were registered in every KGBV of the state, and 32 girls were included in each. By giving easy training to the girls divided into small units, full effort was made to make them fearless, self-reliant and empowered.
Girls got this training
In the training program, the girls were given information about the rules, pledge, principles and first aid of scouting / guiding. They were also taught techniques like tying knots, using first aid boxes and tying leaves to a jholi triangular bandage. During the camp, a camp fire was organised every night, where methods of cooking food in the open and survival during disasters were also taught.
Guide training is necessary for girls
This training will not only encourage the physical, mental, intellectual, and spiritual development of the girl students, but will also open many educational and employment opportunities for them in the future. For example, these girls will get weightage of marks in B.Ed and D.El.Ed, and will be given priority in the recruitment of Scout Guiding in Road Transport and Railways. Such programmes will not only increase the confidence of the girls, but will also empower them to make their mark in the society.
