Census is a Foundation of Development: Commissioner

Addressing the session, Divisional Commissioner Vijay Vishwas Pant said that Census-2027 is a crucial foundation for national development as it provides essential data for policy-making and government planning.

He described the self-enumeration process as simple, secure, and time-efficient, stating that it can be completed within 5 to 10 minutes. He urged officials and employees to complete their own self-enumeration and also encourage their families, acquaintances, and local communities to participate actively so that the initiative can turn into a mass movement.

Detailed Technical Training on Self-Enumeration

Deputy Director Census Gaurav Pandey provided a detailed and practical demonstration of the entire self-enumeration process during the workshop. He explained the use of the online portal, login procedures, data entry methods, required documents, and important precautions to be followed while filling the form.

He emphasized that self-enumeration allows citizens to directly enter accurate and verified household data on the portal, thereby improving the overall quality and reliability of census data.

Participants were also given a live demonstration of the online process to better understand its functioning. Officials were encouraged to actively promote awareness in their respective offices and regions and motivate citizens to adopt the digital self-enumeration system.

Practical Demonstration by Senior Officials

During the session, Additional Commissioner Radhe Shyam and Additional Commissioner Rakesh Kumar Patel demonstrated the self-enumeration process by filling out their own census details live in front of participants, providing a practical example of the system in action.

The workshop concluded with a call for collective participation to ensure the successful implementation of Census-2027 through widespread public engagement and digital adoption.
