Lucknow: A detailed review meeting and presentation of Bhatkhande Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya was held at Jan Bhawan under the chairmanship of Uttar Pradesh Governor and Chancellor of State Universities Anandiben Patel.
The meeting focused on academic performance, infrastructure development, implementation of collaborations, and student welfare initiatives. The Vice Chancellor and senior officials of the university made a comprehensive presentation covering departments, courses, research activities, admissions, staffing positions, infrastructure status, library digitisation of rare manuscripts, hostel facilities, and ongoing construction work.
Information was also shared regarding memorandums of understanding (MoUs) signed with various institutions, social outreach activities, summer interest workshops, alumni engagement, training programmes, and fee structure-related matters.
Key Directions Issued by the Governor
During the review, Governor Anandiben Patel issued several important directives aimed at strengthening academic quality and improving student facilities. She emphasized that hostels must be equipped with all basic amenities, including washing machines, to ensure a comfortable living environment for students.
She further directed the university to ensure effective implementation of all MoUs signed with partner institutions and stressed the need to introduce short-term and certificate courses in music and other performing arts.
The Governor also recommended that summer hobby workshops should include certification so that students can benefit academically and professionally from such programmes.
Focus on Skill Development, Documentation and Academic Quality
Highlighting the importance of skill-based education, she advised the university to launch short-term certificate courses across diverse disciplines and encourage faculty members to engage in book writing and academic research.
She also stressed the need for systematic documentation of achievements of both teachers and students. Cultural and academic activities, she said, should be properly recorded with photographs and captions for future reference and presentations.

The Governor instructed the university to develop a comprehensive alumni database and expedite the filling of vacant posts. She also called for strict implementation of university regulations and best practices in line with other state universities.
NAAC Preparation and Institutional Strengthening
Special emphasis was laid on preparations for accreditation by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). The Governor directed that clear responsibilities be assigned to all stakeholders, Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) be strengthened, and all NAAC criteria be studied carefully.
She also recommended inclusion of value-based education in curriculum and systematic data collection related to academic and co-curricular activities.
University Response
The meeting was conducted by Special Officer Dr. Sudhir Mahadev Bobde, who outlined the objectives and structure of the review session.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Mandavi Singh expressed gratitude to the Chancellor for her guidance and support, stating that the directions would help strengthen institutional governance, improve cleanliness standards, and enhance overall academic performance.
Senior officials, faculty heads, representatives of the Culture Department, and university staff were present during the meeting.
