Bareilly: A review meeting of the Jal Jeevan Mission was held at the Collectorate auditorium in Bareilly under the chairmanship of District Magistrate Avinash Singh to assess the status of rural drinking water projects and related infrastructure across the district.
During the meeting, reports submitted by designated inspection officers regarding 121 completed projects were presented before the District Magistrate. Officials informed the administration that water supply in Gram Khatausa had been disrupted due to theft of electrical wiring. It was assured that rewiring work would be completed within three days and water supply restored immediately thereafter.
In another matter, damage to the boundary wall in Maheshpur Shiv Singh village was reported, following which the District Magistrate directed officials to complete repair work within 15 days.
The meeting also reviewed pending household water connections in Simra Boripur village of Kyara development block. Officials stated that five houses had earlier not opted for water connections but residents are now willing to avail the facility. Instructions were issued to ensure that the households receive water connections at the earliest.
District Magistrate Avinash Singh directed officials to conduct inspections of all overhead water tanks constructed in the district and obtain structural safety certificates from concerned engineers.

He further instructed that land surrounding the overhead tanks should also be examined, particularly for tanks situated close to populated residential areas, which are to be inspected on priority.
During the meeting, Executive Engineer Kumkum Gangwar informed officials that technical experts from reputed institutions such as IT and NIT would also inspect the projects. Senior heads of executing agencies have additionally been asked to conduct regular inspections to ensure quality and safety standards are maintained.
Chief Development Officer Devyani and other concerned officials were also present during the meeting.
