Bareilly: A review meeting of the Jal Jeevan Mission was held at the Collectorate auditorium in Bareilly under the chairmanship of District Magistrate Avinash Singh to assess the progress and functioning of ongoing rural water supply projects in the district.
During the meeting, officials presented inspection reports related to 121 completed projects under the mission. The reports had been prepared by designated officers tasked with reviewing the completed works.
Officials informed the District Magistrate that water supply in Gram Khatausa had been disrupted due to wire theft. It was stated that rewiring work would be completed within three days and water supply restored thereafter.
Similarly, in Maheshpur Shiv Singh village, a damaged boundary wall was reported, following which instructions were issued to complete repair work within 15 days.
In another case from Simra Boripur village in Kyara development block, five households had earlier not opted for water connections but are now willing to avail the facility. The District Magistrate directed officials to ensure that connections are provided to the interested households without delay.
Avinash Singh also instructed authorities to conduct inspections of all overhead water tanks constructed in the district and obtain structural safety certificates from engineers.

He further directed that land surrounding all overhead tanks should be examined, with priority given to tanks located near densely populated areas to ensure public safety and proper maintenance.
During the meeting, Executive Engineer Kumkum Gangwar informed officials that technical experts from IT and NIT institutions would also conduct inspections of the infrastructure. Senior officials of the executing agencies have additionally been asked to carry out periodic inspections at their level to maintain quality standards.
Chief Development Officer Devyani, Executive Engineer of Rural Water Supply and Jal Jeevan Mission Kumkum Gangwar, along with other concerned officials, were present during the meeting.
