Bareilly District Magistrate Launches ‘No Vehicle Day’ Initiative to Promote Fuel Conservation

Bareilly: In a move aimed at encouraging fuel conservation and environmental responsibility, Avinash Singh has initiated a “No Vehicle Day” campaign in Bareilly, setting an example for both government officials and the general public.

Inspired by the appeal of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the District Magistrate has reportedly stopped the use of both his official escort vehicles and decided to observe two no-vehicle days every week.

The initiative aims to promote responsible fuel usage, reduce unnecessary consumption of petrol and diesel, and create greater awareness about environmental sustainability and energy conservation.

As part of the campaign, the District Magistrate and several administrative officials walked from the Collectorate to their residences, encouraging citizens through personal example rather than mere instructions.

Addressing the initiative, Avinash Singh said that amid the ongoing global fuel challenges, fuel conservation should not be viewed only as an individual choice but as a national responsibility. He noted that reducing unnecessary vehicle usage would not only save fuel but also help in lowering environmental pollution.

He also appealed to the public to use vehicles judiciously and avoid unnecessary travel in the larger interest of the nation and environmental protection.

The initiative has drawn attention locally as an administrative effort focused on sustainable practices and public awareness through direct participation.
