District Magistrate Appeals to Bareilly Residents to Participate in Self-Enumeration for Census 2027

Bareilly: District Magistrate Avinash Singh has appealed to the citizens of Bareilly to actively participate in the self-enumeration process under Census 2027 and contribute towards ensuring accurate and quality data collection.

Under the first phase of Census 2027, titled “House Listing and Housing Census,” enumerators will conduct door-to-door surveys across all areas from May 22 to June 20, 2026, to collect responses to questions notified by the Government of India.

Officials stated that the census process is not limited to counting the population alone, but also involves the collection of crucial socio-economic data such as age, gender, literacy, and economic activities. These statistics play an important role in the formulation of future national policies and development schemes.

For the first time, the Government of India has decided to conduct the census through digital platforms. As part of this initiative, provisions for voluntary self-enumeration have been introduced from May 7 to May 21, 2026.

In accordance with the directives issued by the Central and Uttar Pradesh governments, the self-enumeration process has already commenced across Uttar Pradesh, including Bareilly district, from May 7.

The campaign was formally launched in the district through public representatives and local authorities to encourage maximum public participation. Officials believe that greater involvement of citizens in self-enumeration will help ensure timely and efficient completion of the first phase of Census 2027.

District Magistrate Avinash Singh urged aware and responsible citizens of Bareilly to take part enthusiastically in the self-enumeration initiative and extend their valuable support to this important national exercise.
