Gonda: Deputy Transport Commissioner (Urban Transport), Headquarters, Vijay Kumar Singh conducted a surprise inspection of the Regional Transport Office (RTO), Gonda, on Saturday on the directions of the Transport Commissioner, Uttar Pradesh.
The inspection focused on checking the availability and functioning of CCTV cameras installed at the office, monitoring the activities of unauthorised or suspicious persons, examining the possibility of unauthorised intermediary activities and verifying the details and identity cards of office personnel.

During the inspection, Singh checked the identity cards of all employees and reviewed the current status of work being handled at their respective service desks. He directed officers and employees to maintain complete transparency in the discharge of their duties.
He also inspected the display of service desk numbers and details of services being provided at each office window to ensure that the information was clearly visible to applicants. The functioning of various desks was reviewed, while the maintenance of files, arrangement of official records and cleanliness of the office were also examined.

The Deputy Transport Commissioner interacted directly with applicants who had visited the office for various services and enquired about their problems and whether they were facing any inconvenience. The applicants present said they had come for their personal work and were not experiencing any difficulty at the office.
The inspection emphasised the need to make the functioning of the transport office more transparent, organised and citizen-friendly. Officials and employees were instructed to ensure that applicants receive services in a systematic manner and that office procedures remain transparent and accountable.
