Congress Holds Organization Building Meeting for Awadh Zone in Lucknow

Lucknow: On the third day of the Sangathan Srijan Program, a meeting of Congress workers from Awadh zone districts, including Lakhimpur Kheri, Balrampur, Sitapur, Shravasti, Bahraich, Gonda, Hardoi, Unnao, Barabanki, and Lucknow, was held at the Uttar Pradesh Congress headquarters. The session was presided over by AICC General Secretary and Uttar Pradesh in-charge Avinash Pandey and UP Congress Committee President and former minister Ajay Rai.

Prominent leaders, including Awadh zone co-in-charge and National Secretary Dheeraj Gurjar, senior Congress leader and MP Kishori Lal Sharma, former MP P.L. Punia, UP Congress Legislature Party leader Aradhana Mishra Mona, MLA Virendra Chaudhary, and former MLA Sanjay Kapoor, were also present.

The meeting sought inputs from workers on strengthening the Congress organization in Uttar Pradesh. A large gathering of new and veteran Congress members showcased their enthusiasm and commitment. Avinash Pandey assured that everyone present would be given opportunities to contribute to the organization-building process.

Pandey acknowledged the Congress’s 35-year absence from power in the state, lauding workers for their unwavering dedication. “Despite the challenges, your spirit of struggle is commendable,” he said.

In his address, Ajay Rai expressed optimism, stating, “The way you are fighting on the streets today, you will soon be fighting for people’s rights inside the Assembly.”

Following the meeting, Pandey and Rai paid floral tributes to Fatima Sheikh, an Indian educator and social reformer, on her birth anniversary, honoring her contributions to society.
