Lucknow: Colvin Taluqdars’ College celebrated its Investiture Ceremony for the 2026–27 academic session at Hind Hall, formally inducting the newly elected Student Council in a ceremony that underscored the values of leadership, responsibility, integrity, and service.
The event was graced by Shri Dhruva Kant Thakur, IPS, Director General, Home Guards and Director General, Civil Defence, Uttar Pradesh, as the Chief Guest.
The ceremony began with the ceremonial welcome of the Chief Guest, followed by the traditional lighting of the lamp, symbolising the triumph of knowledge and wisdom. On the occasion, the Principal felicitated Managing Committee member Kr. Vinay Kumar Singh and Ms. Deepika Chaturvedi, along with other distinguished guests, in recognition of their support and contribution towards the successful organisation of the event.
Delivering the welcome address, the Principal highlighted the significance of leadership and the responsibilities that accompany positions of trust. Encouraging the newly elected student leaders, he said, “Life is a long journey, but moments like this are milestones,” urging them to lead with integrity, humility, and unwavering commitment while upholding the rich traditions of the institution.

The school choir presented a moving rendition of “Hum Honge Kamyaab,” setting an inspiring tone for the proceedings before the formal badging and oath-taking ceremony.
The newly inducted members of the Core Student Council are:

- Head Boy: Rudransh Pratap Singh (Class XII A, Sanchi House)
- Head Girl: Sakina Yousuf (Class XII B, Nalanda House)
- Sports Captain: Aarav Gupta (Class XII A, Taxila House)
- College Vice Captain (CVC): Umar Shafiq (Class XII A, Ajanta House)
The ceremony also included the oath-taking of House Captains, Vice Captains, and Prefects representing Ajanta, Nalanda, Sanchi, Taxila, and Ujjain Houses, who pledged to serve the school community with dedication, discipline, and sincerity.
In his address, Chief Guest Shri Dhruva Kant Thakur drew inspiration from the message conveyed through the choir’s performance, emphasising the ideals of unity, collective progress, and universal peace. He encouraged students to move forward together, work for the welfare of society, and embrace leadership as a responsibility rather than a privilege. He reminded the young leaders that genuine success is achieved through commitment, accountability, and the ability to foster harmony in every sphere of life.

The programme concluded with the presentation of a memento to the Chief Guest, followed by the singing of the College Anthem and the National Anthem. The celebrations ended with a High Tea at Auckland Hall, where students, faculty members, alumni, and distinguished guests interacted and commemorated the occasion.
The Investiture Ceremony reaffirmed Colvin Taluqdars’ College’s enduring commitment to nurturing principled, responsible, and visionary young leaders equipped to make meaningful contributions to society while carrying forward the institution’s legacy of excellence.
