Bareilly: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath chaired a comprehensive review meeting on development initiatives and law and order in Bareilly district at the Circuit House auditorium, directing officials to ensure timely implementation of projects, effective public grievance redressal, and strengthened civic services.
During the meeting, District Magistrate Avinash Singh presented an overview of the district’s achievements, highlighting that Bareilly has consistently ranked among the top five districts on the state’s CM Dashboard in 2026. He informed that live monitoring of public grievance hearings is being conducted across tehsil and block offices, with plans to connect all officials through a digital platform over the next three months to improve citizen services.
The District Magistrate also briefed the Chief Minister on the development and beautification of the historic Leelaur Lake in Aonla, arrangements for the upcoming Kanwar Yatra, and major investments under the Government Food Science Training Centre, where 94 industrial units have been established, attracting investments worth approximately ₹900 crore. He further highlighted the district’s innovative “Operation Udan Pari” initiative, under which meritorious girls topping High School and Intermediate examinations at the state level have been provided e-scooters.
Reviewing urban infrastructure, officials informed that the Integrated Command and Control Centre under the Bareilly Smart City project is monitoring city security and traffic through more than 1,200 CCTV cameras and has facilitated the issuance of over one million e-challans. The administration also reported the expansion of PNG connections, with more than 54,000 households connected to piped natural gas.
Among future projects, the district administration outlined plans for a Nagar Van (urban forest) at CB Ganj, a ₹92.63-crore Mega Food Park spread over 250 acres in Baheri, and a proposed Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Implement Zone on 112 acres in Nawabganj. Officials noted that Dairy Craft India Private Limited has already committed an investment of ₹350 crore in the Mega Food Park project.
The meeting also reviewed the work of the Bareilly Development Authority, which is implementing projects under its “Five-S Model” of creation, habitation, connectivity, conservation and culture. Key achievements include widening major roads to four and six lanes, construction of thematic gateways inspired by Nath temples, development of the 269-hectare Ramganga Nagar Housing Scheme generating revenue of over ₹3,631 crore, and the creation of Ramayan Vatika featuring a 51-foot bronze statue of Lord Ram. Work is also progressing on the Greater Bareilly Housing Scheme, Pilibhit Bypass Housing Scheme and an industrial township.
Officials informed the Chief Minister that a Nath Corridor project worth over ₹100 crore is under development, featuring pilgrim facilities, a Vedic library, open theatre, focus walls, sanitation infrastructure and commercial amenities. Municipal authorities also highlighted ongoing efforts in solid waste management, sewage treatment, road beautification, urban forestry and biodiversity conservation.

On law and order, senior police officials stated that more than two crore Kanwar pilgrims pass through Bareilly annually, requiring extensive security arrangements. The district police reported the formation of Uttar Pradesh’s first all-women Special Operations Group, the “Veerangana Unit,” and noted that 1,196 police personnel had been rewarded for outstanding performance. Infrastructure upgrades at police stations, including hostels, barracks, investigation rooms and fire stations, were also reviewed.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath directed officials to intensify efforts against electricity theft, strengthen healthcare services, improve school enrolment through the “Roko-Toko, School Bhejo Abhiyan,” and ensure speedy disposal of pending revenue cases. He also emphasized better management of gaushalas, promotion of natural farming, accountability in restoring roads dug up under the Jal Jeevan Mission, wider awareness of the PM Surya Ghar Yojana, and stronger measures to control dengue and malaria.
The Chief Minister stressed the importance of road safety, efficient fire services, cybercrime awareness and quality monitoring of government projects. He instructed departments to appoint nodal officers for major schemes and fix accountability wherever deficiencies are found.
The meeting was attended by Union Minister of State Jitin Prasada, Uttar Pradesh Finance Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna, Animal Husbandry Minister Dharampal Singh, Forest and Environment Minister Arun Kumar, Cooperative Minister J. P. S. Rathore, Bareilly Mayor Umesh Gautam, MPs, MLAs and senior administrative and police officials.
