ASAP Holds Key Organisational Meeting in Lucknow, Announces New State Executive

AAP Student Wing to Intensify Campaign on Education, Scholarships, Employment and Exam Reforms Across Uttar Pradesh

Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh unit of the Aam Aadmi Student Wing (ASAP), the student organisation affiliated with the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), held a major organisational meeting at the party’s state office in Lucknow on Sunday. The meeting was chaired by ASAP Uttar Pradesh In-Charge and Chief State Spokesperson, Vanshraj Dubey, and was attended by office-bearers and student leaders from various districts of the state.

During the meeting, participants discussed a range of issues affecting students and young people, including examination reforms, scholarship delays, rising educational costs, and unemployment. The organisation also announced plans to constitute a new state executive committee and expand its presence across colleges and universities in Uttar Pradesh.

Focus on Student and Youth Issues

Addressing the gathering, Dubey said that students and young people in the state were facing multiple challenges and that their concerns were not receiving adequate attention. He stated that ASAP would intensify its efforts to raise student-related issues and lead organised campaigns in educational institutions across the state.

According to Dubey, the organisation plans to build a stronger grassroots network and work on issues affecting students from both urban and rural areas.

Concerns Over Examination System

The student leader expressed concern over recurring examination-related controversies and alleged that repeated paper leak incidents had undermined confidence in the recruitment and examination process. He said students who spend years preparing for competitive examinations deserve a transparent and credible system.

Dubey called for stronger safeguards to ensure fairness and accountability in examinations and recruitment processes.

Scholarship Delays and Fee Hikes Raised

The meeting also highlighted concerns regarding delays in scholarship disbursement. Participants argued that timely financial assistance is crucial for students from economically weaker backgrounds and that delays can adversely affect their education.

ASAP leaders further raised the issue of increasing tuition and institutional fees, calling for measures to make higher education more affordable and accessible.

Employment Opportunities for Youth

Addressing unemployment, Dubey said many educated young people continue to face challenges in securing suitable employment opportunities. He urged policymakers to focus on job creation and skill development initiatives that can help bridge the gap between education and employment.

Expansion Across Educational Institutions

The organisation announced plans to strengthen its presence in colleges, universities, and districts throughout Uttar Pradesh. Student leaders said awareness campaigns, outreach programmes, and issue-based movements would be launched to address concerns related to education, employment, and student welfare.

The meeting concluded with a unanimous decision to soon announce a new state executive committee and initiate a phased campaign on student and youth issues across Uttar Pradesh.

Among those present were Arun Verma, Anit Rawat, Anshul Yadav, Kuldeep Yadav, Raghukul Yatharth, Ashish Kumar, Ankush Upadhyay, Rakesh Yadav, Ashish Maurya, Nilesh Chaturvedi, Akash Singh, Mohammad Jabir Raza, and several student representatives from different districts.
