Lucknow: In view of the sowing of Rabi crops by farmers in the districts of the state, the Agriculture Minister of Uttar Pradesh conducted a surprise inspection of the Multipurpose Cooperative Society Ltd. Nigoha (Development Block-Mohanlalganj) in Lucknow, IFFCO Kisan Seva Kendra, Bachhrawan in Raebareli district, private sector fertilizer sales centers Yadav Khad Bhandar, Kundanganj, Bachhrawan, Shyam Khad Bhandar, Harchandrapur, Ravi Khad Bhandar Umri, Salon, Jai Maa Sharda Dhruv Agri Junction Center, Harchandrapur and Ambe Khad Bhandar and Krishak Seva Kendra, Raniganj, Kaithola Bazaar, Lalganj in Pratapgarh district along with Anil Kumar Pathak, Joint Agriculture Director, Lucknow Division, Lucknow, Deputy Agriculture Director, Lucknow and the concerned District Agriculture Officer.
During the inspection, information was sought from the farmers present there about the availability of fertilizers. The Hon’ble Minister gave strict instructions to the officers present during the inspection to ensure that the farmer brothers get the fertilizers easily without any inconvenience. There should be no delay in the process of delivering fertilizers by the wholesale fertilizer sellers to the retail fertilizer sellers.
Fertilizer sellers should not tag or hold any other product along with the fertilizer to the farmers. Fertilizers should not be sold at all the fertilizer sales centers of the state at a rate higher than the maximum selling price mentioned on the sack. If facts related to black marketing / selling at higher prices / holding and tagging of fertilizers come to light in the above sequence, then immediately register a First Information Report against the concerned person and also cancel the fertilizer sales authorization letter and take legal action as per the rules.
At present, 137 racks of phosphatic fertilizers have been dispatched by the Government of India, out of which 94 racks have reached and the remaining 43 phosphatic racks are on the way, which are likely to reach their destination within the next 02 to 03 days.
Farmer brothers will not have to face any kind of problem in sowing crops. It is the responsibility of the state government to provide adequate quantity of fertilizers to the farmer brothers of the state as per their land holding/requirement.
In view of giving priority to the cooperative sector for purchasing fertilizers by the farmer brothers, Government Order No. 1867911/12-2099/125/2019-1315/2024 dated 13 November, 2024 has been issued on the instructions to make 30% of the fertilizers available to the cooperative sector in the fertilizer racks of private sector fertilizer companies in the district, but in view of the average daily consumption being done by the farmers at present, the decision has been taken by the Hon’ble Minister to increase the said 30% quantity to 50%. Presently, the details of availability of phosphatic fertilizers in the state are as follows.
