– Benches will be installed along the path-way in the garden for the convenience of the people, gazebos will be built at the entry and exit points
Lucknow: The rose garden developed in Janeshwar Mishra Park located in Gomti Nagar Extension will soon be counted among the best rose gardens of the country. For this, more than 2200 plants of indigenous and foreign species of roses will be planted in the garden, which will be the largest collection of different varieties of roses in the country. Lucknow Development Authority Vice Chairman Prathamesh Kumar inspected the rose garden and gave instructions to upgrade the arrangements.
LDA Vice Chairman Prathamesh Kumar said that a national level rose garden has been developed in an area of about 04 acres near Gate No. 6 in Janeshwar Mishra Park. Currently, more than 1500 plants of indigenous and foreign species of roses are planted here. On one side, plants of foreign species have been planted, while on the other side, plants of indigenous species (Domesiana) have been planted, so that people visiting the garden keep getting the fragrance of roses. Now, increasing the number of plants here, about 2200 species of roses will be planted, due to which Lucknow will have the largest collection of roses among all the rose gardens across the country.
Along with this, attractive horticultural works will be done by upgrading the facilities in the garden, which will further increase the beauty of the garden. In this sequence, gazebos will be made at the entry and exit points of the garden. Fencing will be done for safety by placing benches of attractive design along the path-way. Apart from this, facade lights will be done, whose light will enhance the color of rose flowers. He told that Rose Festival will be organized in Janeshwar Mishra Park to connect children and youth with Rose Garden. For which guidelines have been given to the concerned officials.
Pumping station will be ready in December
The Vice Chairman also inspected the pumping station being constructed between Janeshwar Mishra Park and G-20 Road. In this, the officials informed that a pumping station of 400 kilolitre capacity is being built at a cost of Rs 09 crore. In this, civil work has been completed to a large extent and the equipment to be installed in the pumping station has also arrived. On this, the Vice President directed to complete the work by December 2024.
Joggers Park: Fine of Rs 2 lakh on contractor
Vice Chairman Prathamesh Kumar also inspected the Joggers Park located in Basantkunj Yojana. The Vice Chairman directed to impose a fine of Rs 02 lakh on the implementing agency M/s Shri Sai Shakti on not finding the horticulture and maintenance work in the park satisfactory. He directed that the work should be started immediately by preparing an estimate for the repair and painting of toilet block and boundary wall etc., horticulture, signage board and electrical related works. Apart from this, the old broken swings in the park should be replaced and an open gym should be developed. Secretary Vivek Shrivastava, Additional Secretary Gyanendra Verma, Chief Engineer Avnindra Kumar Singh along with the concerned zonal officers and engineers were present during the inspection.
