Lucknow: On the occasion of 71st All India Cooperative Week 2024, Uttar Pradesh Rajya Nirman Sahakari Sangh Ltd. (U.P.R.N.S.S.) inaugurated the seminar on the topic “Role of cooperative organizations in achieving the goal of Sustainable Development Goals and the way forward for a better world” in the cooperative sector.
Chief Guest Principal Secretary, Cooperation, M.P. Aggarwal inaugurated the seminar by lighting the lamp and while expressing his views in the seminar, said that cooperation is only through participation. Cooperation is present in every aspect of our life and is capable of fulfilling the goal of Sustainable Development Goals. Cooperation is the basis of individual prosperity. Cooperative societies are capable of controlling the current circumstances.
Together we are really building a better world. Through the Cooperative Department, work is being done to increase the income of farmers and eliminate poverty. Cooperatives are playing an important role in the development of the country and the state by getting the work of agriculture, banking, sugarcane development, handloom, milk development, fisheries and construction done mainly through B-PACS.
The special guest of the program, Commissioner and Registrar of Cooperatives, B.N. Singh said that various schemes are being run for the upliftment of farmers through the Cooperative Department in the state. Due to which people of different sections of the society are being provided opportunities for economic and social development through cooperatives. Short term crop loans and other facilities including fertilizers are being made available to farmers through cooperative societies, due to which the income of farmers is increasing.
Additional Commissioner and Additional Registrar (Cold Storage) Cooperatives, Dhirendra Singh, while presiding over the program, said that UP Rajya Nirman Sahakari Sangh Ltd. Lucknow is a debt-free top cooperative institution of the state. The construction works of various departments of the state are being done by the organization through 35 construction blocks and 07 zones with high quality and timeliness in accordance with the intention of the government.
Monthly progress report is reviewed with the software prepared to speed up the work of the organization and control the quality. UPRNSS has become financially very strong over the years and is continuously profitable. To bring more transparency in the construction works, construction works are being executed only through e-tender and payment for the works done is being made through e-bill / e-MB software with transparency.
Works worth Rs. 921.29 crores have been done in the financial year 2023-24 of various departments, and works worth Rs. 432.14 crores have been done till the month of October 2024 of the financial year 2024-25. Professor of Lucknow University, Shri M.K. Aggarwal said that the dream of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is to make India a developed nation by 2047. There has been a revolutionary change in the basic infrastructure of Uttar Pradesh. The sex ratio has improved. Co-operation is playing its special role in achieving the goals of sustainable development.
Vice Chairman of Uttar Pradesh State Construction Cooperative Union Ltd., Alok Singh said that the organization is continuously carrying out the construction works allotted by the government in the entire state with high quality and timeliness. He also thanked the guests who attended the seminar. In the seminar organized by UPRNSS on 71st All India Cooperative Week 2024, Additional Commissioner and Additional Registrar (Banking) Anil Kumar Singh, Special Secretary Cooperative M.P. Pandey, Managing Director of UPCLDF Ram Prakash, Managing Director of UPLDB Shashi Ranjan Kumar Rao and other officers of Cooperative Department and Chief General Manager of UPRNSS Abhay Singh and all officers / employees etc. were present.
