Lucknow: Shubham Soti Foundation has been organizing awareness programs related to road safety on the occasion of the foundation day of its organization on 15 July every year since 2010.
On 15 July 2010, my son Shubham Soti died in an accidental and unfortunate road accident. After recovering a little from this unbearable pain and suffering, I formed the Shubham Soti Foundation and decided that in the rest of my life, I will do something in the field of road safety through this foundation so that what has happened to me does not happen to others to some extent.
With this thinking, since 2010, some social work has been done regularly every month every year, aiming at continuous road safety awareness and behavior change in this field.
In this connection, this year also, the 13th Foundation Day of the organization on 15th and 16th July was dedicated to road safety.
This year also, like before, for one week from 15th July, we have decided that Shubham Soti Foundation will put retro reflector strips on cycles, e-rickshaws, trolleys, auto rickshaws and such vehicles which mostly have either broken rear lights or do not have them at all, so that the glow of these radium strips will be visible from behind even at night and such vehicles will be able to mark their presence on the road and accidents will also be reduced.
In this sequence, in this program of yesterday and today, we started putting retro reflector radium strips on such vehicles at Chinhat turn on Ayodhya Marg, Heinemann Square Gomti Nagar and this work will be done at different places every day for the next one week. In this event of yesterday and today, Mr. Dharmendra Pratap Singh, TSI, Mr. Beeri Singh, TSI, Mr. Saurabh Upadhyay, Head Constable and senior officer of Shubham Soti Foundation Anwarul Abbasi, Arpit Singhal, Dr. Gopal Garg, Vishal Tyagi, Dr. Aman Vij, Vishal Srivastava, Vishal Pandey, Tanya Soni and assistant Badal Rawat were present.
The objective of Shubham Soti Foundation is that starting from tomorrow, 15th July, for the next one week, at least 10 thousand vehicles which do not have backlights, will be fitted with retro reflector radium strips in various areas of Lucknow city.
