New Delhi: A drug interception in Delhi has led the police to uncover a suspected heroin manufacturing and distribution network operating from Lucknow, with narcotics valued at around Rs 50 crore seized during the investigation.
According to police, the case began when the Special Staff team of Rohini intercepted a white SUV in Sector 32 of Begumpur. The vehicle was allegedly being used by 56-year-old Laxman Hooda, who was carrying 300 grams of heroin for delivery. Police also recovered Rs 3 lakh in cash and seized the Grand Vitara.

DCP Shashank Jaiswal said Hooda’s questioning led investigators to his alleged supplier, Anil alias Bhola, a resident of Raghubir Nagar in Delhi. Anil was traced to Sonipat, Haryana, where police arrested him and recovered another 500 grams of heroin.
The investigation subsequently led police to a Lucknow-based suspect identified as Bablu. After an extensive search lasting nearly two weeks, Bablu was arrested and more than 6 kg of freshly manufactured heroin was allegedly recovered from his possession.

Police said the seized heroin has an estimated international-market value of around Rs 50 crore. Investigators also recovered materials allegedly used in the manufacture and processing of the drug, including 2.504 kg of sodium, 787 grams of acetic anhydride, a container, gas cylinder, mixer grinder, utensils, polythene, an electronic weighing machine and a wooden basket.
The investigation further led police to Bareilly, where they arrested a man identified as Ruksar Ali, who was allegedly supplying the chemical materials. Officials said he was apprehended after an extended pursuit.
The police are continuing their investigation to identify other members of the alleged network and establish the full supply chain.
