Mumbai: Salman Khan came to the forefront while addressing Yung DSA’s controversial femininity remark against Aman Gandhi during the latest episode of Bigg Boss 20. Questioning the choice of words used during the confrontation, Salman highlighted how references to women, bangles and traditionally feminine symbols were being used as a way to put someone down.
The discussion took place after the ration task was cancelled and Bigg Boss gave the housemates an opportunity to win a luxury basket containing food items. Aman won the task but was given a condition where he had to choose a fellow contestant whose “life” would be taken. Aman chose Yung DSA, which subsequently led to a confrontation between the two.
During their argument and a later diss battle, Yung made remarks using femininity and women as a way of insulting Aman. Addressing the matter, Salman questioned the very idea behind using such references as an insult.
“I understand you were angry. I understand you wanted to diss him. Tell me one thing. What does your mother wear at home? Nawari? Kashta? Bangles? Bracelet? Like me? Torn shoes like me? If she wears Kashta, Nawari, Saree, does she do anything wrong? So, what is this way of dissing? That you call someone a woman,” Salman said.
Salman also pointed out the contradiction between speaking about women’s rights and then allowing femininity to be used as an insult inside the house. He said, “In this house, you talk about women’s rights. But when you tell Aman to wear bangles, your entire group was supporting you. Amrapali and Love. You didn’t stop Yung either.”
He further questioned the mindset behind the commonly used expression involving bangles and women, while also bringing Yung’s family into the conversation.
“And you have a mother and sisters. You love them like crazy. So, how were you okay with someone saying that we don’t wear bangles? That means you are talking about your own mother and sister. That my mother and sisters wear bangles. They are the weaker sex,” Salman said.
Salman also acknowledged that such expressions can sometimes come out casually because they have been part of popular culture for years, but encouraged Yung to rethink the language used while trying to diss someone.
“Sometimes it comes in the flow. Because this dialogue has been in my mind since childhood. Change that cliché dialogue to, ‘I have worn a bracelet,’” Salman added.
Meanwhile, Aman Gandhi, known for his work in Naagin 3, Bhagya Lakshmi, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2 and other television projects, remained composed throughout the discussion. Instead of extending the confrontation, Aman chose to handle the situation calmly.
What further stood out was Aman’s response after Yung DSA apologised to him. Rather than holding on to the controversy, Aman chose to forgive him and move forward. The moment highlighted Aman’s composed approach and his willingness to put the confrontation behind him after receiving an apology.
