Lucknow: The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Lucknow, held a meeting with representatives of banks and finance companies to discuss preparations for the upcoming National Lok Adalat and Mediation Campaign 3.0, with a particular focus on identifying and resolving a larger number of bank recovery cases.
The meeting was convened in accordance with the directions of the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA), New Delhi, and the Uttar Pradesh State Legal Services Authority (UPSLSA), Lucknow. It was held on August 10 at the Mediation Centre in the Old High Court premises under the guidance of District Judge and Chairman of DLSA, Lucknow, Malkhan Singh.
DLSA Secretary Kunwar Mitresh Singh Kushwaha chaired the meeting and reviewed preparations for the National Lok Adalat scheduled for September 12, 2026, as well as Mediation Campaign 3.0.
During the meeting, the secretary reviewed the cases proposed to be taken up during the National Lok Adalat and issued directions to representatives of participating financial institutions to undertake extensive awareness activities.
Bank officials were asked to display banners and other publicity material at their respective branches to inform customers about the upcoming National Lok Adalat and Mediation Campaign 3.0. They were also instructed to prepare and send notices to the DLSA office well in advance so that the notices could be served on concerned parties in time.
Officials were further encouraged to use WhatsApp messages, SMS and other digital communication channels to inform people about the proceedings. The objective is to ensure that eligible cases, particularly bank recovery matters, can be resolved in large numbers through the upcoming legal services initiatives.
The meeting highlighted the role of alternative dispute resolution mechanisms in providing citizens with a faster and more accessible avenue for resolving disputes without prolonged litigation.
Officials from all Negotiable Instruments Act (NI Act) courts attended the meeting. Other participants included Rajveer Singh Tomar, Lead District Manager, Bank of India; Anand Kumar Mishra, Chief Manager, State Bank of India, along with representatives and panel advocates from Yes Bank, HDFC Bank, Axis Bank and Tata.
The DLSA urged all participating institutions to complete the necessary preparations within the stipulated timelines so that maximum eligible cases can be taken up and resolved during the National Lok Adalat and Mediation Campaign 3.0.
