Working with a sense of purpose in every role and maintaining a commitment to continuous learning are the true keys to success. Dr. Rajeshwar Singh, MLA for Sarojini Nagar, Lucknow, shared these insights on Tuesday during a special interactive session organized by FICCI FLO Lucknow.
The event, themed “From Policing to Politics,” was held at Hotel Taj Mahal under the leadership of FICCI FLO Lucknow Chairperson Simran Sahni. Dr. Rajeshwar Singh shared experiences from various phases of his life and career during the session, which was moderated by journalist and author Shaili Chopra.
Dr. Rajeshwar Singh’s career has spanned multiple sectors. After starting as a mining engineer, he served in the police force. He subsequently took on the role of an investigating officer with the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and, after engaging with the legal field, entered politics. He was awarded the President’s Medal for Gallantry in 2005.
During the conversation, he shared life experiences that conveyed a powerful message: regardless of how circumstances change, the process of learning and moving forward must continue. He spoke candidly about the hardships, self-doubt, and challenges associated with public life.
The discussion at the event went beyond mere achievements, covering topics such as leadership, struggle, self-confidence, decision-making during times of change, and social responsibility. Dr. Singh noted that a career does not always follow a straight line; often, unexpected life changes determine the most significant future directions. Sharing his views on law and order, he stated that Uttar Pradesh is the safest state in the country, noting that women today step out for work without fear. Speaking on the occasion, Chairperson Simran Sahni stated that the objective of FICCI FLO Lucknow is to provide platforms where members can directly interact with exceptional individuals from diverse fields. Such events help foster new perspectives on leadership, change, and living a purposeful life.
