Bareilly: The three-day Ala Hazrat Urs concluded peacefully in Bareilly on Saturday, with the district administration and police maintaining tight security and making arrangements to ensure the safe return of pilgrims.
After the conclusion of the Urs, District Magistrate Avinash Singh and Senior Superintendent of Police Anurag Arya conducted a joint foot patrol with police and administrative officials to review arrangements in and around the Urs area. The officers interacted with pilgrims and assured people from across the country and abroad of continued security and a peaceful environment.
The officials inspected key areas including Islamia Ground, Dargah Road, Biharipur Police Outpost, Islamia Market and Patel Chowk. During the inspection, they reviewed security arrangements, deployment of police personnel and measures implemented at sensitive locations.
The District Magistrate directed police and administrative personnel deployed on duty to remain fully alert and perform their responsibilities diligently. Officials were also instructed to maintain effective surveillance at sensitive and important locations.
During the foot patrol, the officers interacted with pilgrims and assured them that adequate security arrangements were in place. Singh said the district administration had ensured necessary facilities and safety measures throughout the Urs and was now focusing on ensuring that pilgrims face no inconvenience while returning home.
He stressed that maintaining peace and communal harmony in the district remains the administration’s top priority.
SSP Anurag Arya directed police officers to ensure that there was no lapse in security and that immediate action was taken against any activity capable of disturbing law and order.
The foot patrol included SP South Anshika Verma, Additional District Magistrate (Administration) Purnima Singh and other senior administrative and police officials, along with police personnel.
