Bareilly: With the Kanwar Yatra in full swing, the district administration has put in place a wide-ranging set of arrangements to ensure the pilgrimage passes off safely, peacefully, and in an orderly manner. Officials across all concerned departments have been given continuous instructions, with the safety, convenience, and smooth movement of Kanwariyas placed firmly at the top of the priority list.
Kanwar seva camps have been set up across every tehsil in the district, each designed to look after the everyday needs of pilgrims along the route. These camps come equipped with medical facilities, toilets, mobile charging points, food and refreshments, and designated resting areas — with separate rest areas and toilets specifically arranged for women pilgrims.
Community feasts, or bhandaras, are also being organised by the district administration across all tehsils. In Behri tehsil, arrangements have been made near Mudiya Toll; in Sadar tehsil, near Parshuram Temple at Lal Phatak; in Faridpur tehsil, along Devarniya Bukhara Road; in Aonla tehsil, at Bhamora; in Mirganj tehsil, at Kulcha Khurd; and in Nawabganj tehsil, at the Upmandi site — all locations where Kanwar seva camps have been established. These bhandaras will be held on Sunday, August 9, with the camps at Aonla and Nawabganj tehsils also hosting cultural programmes during the day, followed by an evening bhajan sandhya for pilgrims.
To make the stay comfortable, the camps have been equipped with clean drinking water, mobile toilets, bathing facilities, and separate sleeping arrangements with proper bedding for male and female Kanwariyas.
Beyond the basic amenities, the camps are also backed by medical facilities, designated parking arrangements, and necessary security measures. Officials say cleanliness, lighting, and other essential arrangements along the yatra routes and at the camps are being monitored on a continuous basis, with concerned officers and staff stationed on the ground to review the arrangements firsthand and address any gaps immediately as they arise.
The district administration has reiterated its full commitment to ensuring the Kanwar Yatra concludes safely, peacefully, and in an organised fashion. All relevant departments are said to be working in close coordination to make sure pilgrims face no inconvenience during the journey. Security across the district has been kept tight, with adequate police deployment and necessary safety measures put in place to maintain law and order throughout the yatra.
The administration has also appealed to Kanwariyas to stick to the designated Kanwar routes, make full use of the facilities provided, and maintain discipline and peace throughout their journey by cooperating with the authorities. Officials say every possible arrangement is being made to ensure the safety and comfort of devotees participating in this year’s Kanwar Yatra.
