Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh Board of Revenue has approved the result of the Departmental Qualifying Examination-2025 for 6,252 trainee lekhpals who were selected and appointed through direct recruitment. The result was cleared on August 3, 2026.
These trainee lekhpals had undergone structured, hands-on training as per the prescribed curriculum at the state’s various Divisional Revenue Training Schools, located in Lucknow, Azamgarh, Mau, Gorakhpur, Mahoba, Prayagraj, Bijnor, Bareilly, and Firozabad. The departmental qualifying exam was held once this training was completed.
With the result now approved, further service-related processes for these newly selected lekhpals are expected to move ahead quickly. The Board of Revenue has directed principals of the concerned Divisional Revenue Training Schools to prepare marksheets for the trainees based on their scores, in accordance with the rules, and ensure these are promptly distributed through the respective District Magistrates.
Officials describe the development as an important step toward making the state’s revenue administration more capable, robust, and citizen-centric. With a large batch of trained lekhpals now becoming available, revenue-related work tied directly to the public — including the upkeep of land records, mutation, demarcation, inheritance matters, share determination, and correction of errors — is expected to be handled in a more timely, transparent, and effective manner.
Archana Agarwal, Chairperson of the Board of Revenue, congratulated the successful trainee lekhpals and expressed hope that they would carry out their duties with full dedication, sensitivity, transparency, and accountability. She said lekhpals serve as a crucial link between the revenue administration and ordinary citizens, and that their efficiency has a direct bearing on both the quality of revenue services at the village level and public trust in the system.
She also said she expects the newly trained lekhpals to make effective use of modern technology and play an active role in making revenue services simpler, more accessible, and more responsive to public needs.
