Bareilly DM Orders Crackdown on Unfit Vehicles at Road Safety Committee Meeting

Bareilly: District Magistrate Avinash Singh chaired a meeting of the District Road Safety Committee at the Collectorate auditorium, directing officials to intensify enforcement measures to improve road safety and reduce traffic accidents across the district.

During the meeting, the District Magistrate instructed authorities to launch a special drive to identify and seize unfit vehicles operating on the roads. Reviewing traffic management around the Satellite Bus Stand, he observed that several bus drivers were stopping their vehicles in the middle of the road to pick up and drop passengers, leading to frequent traffic congestion. He directed the Regional Manager of the Roadways to take immediate corrective measures and ensure better traffic discipline.

The review also highlighted the absence of a road divider at Bilwa, where repeated accidents have been reported. The District Magistrate instructed the Executive Engineer of the Public Works Department to expedite the construction of a divider to enhance commuter safety and minimise road mishaps.

Additional District Magistrates Avinash Tripathi and Santosh Kumar, Superintendent of Police (Traffic) Mohammad Akmal Khan, Executive Engineer Bhagat Singh, and other officials attended the meeting.
