Lucknow | Senior Aam Aadmi Party leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh launched a sharp attack on the Central government on the completion of 12 years of the Narendra Modi-led administration, alleging that the period has been marked by rising unemployment, inflation, paper leak scandals, misuse of institutions, and policies favouring select industrialists.
Addressing the media, Sanjay Singh said that while supporters of the government may be celebrating the milestone, the common citizens of the country have, in reality, faced increasing economic distress and declining opportunities.
“Government of Adani’s Friends, Not India’s PM” – Sanjay Singh
Singh made strong political remarks, stating that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is not the Prime Minister of India but of his “friend Adani,” accusing the government of favouring select corporate houses in policy decisions and resource allocation.
He further alleged that corruption and black money, instead of being eliminated as promised in 2014, have increased significantly during the past 12 years.
Allegations on Employment and Paper Leak Scandals
The Rajya Sabha MP criticized the government over its employment record, stating that the promise of generating two crore jobs annually has not been fulfilled. Instead, he claimed, youth unemployment has reached alarming levels.
Highlighting examination irregularities, he alleged that more than 93 recruitment examinations have been affected by paper leaks, including major competitive exams such as NEET, thereby impacting the future of millions of students.
Concerns Over Farmers and Inflation
Sanjay Singh alleged that farmers have not received the promised fair prices for their crops and instead faced police action when demanding their rights. He claimed that inflation has severely affected households, with rising fuel and LPG prices adding to the burden on common citizens.

He also pointed out currency depreciation, stating that the rupee has weakened significantly against the US dollar, contributing to economic pressure on the public.
Bulldozer Politics and Housing Promises
Referring to the government’s housing promises, Singh said that while the BJP promised pucca houses for all by 2022, many poor families have instead faced demolition drives. He cited evictions in parts of Delhi and other urban areas, calling it “bulldozer politics” that has displaced vulnerable communities.
Allegations of Misuse of Institutions
The AAP leader also accused the government of misusing central agencies such as the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to target political opponents and weaken democratic institutions.
Criticism of Defence and Economic Policies
Referring to the Agniveer scheme, Singh said it reflects a compromise with the country’s defence preparedness and youth aspirations. He also criticized economic decisions such as demonetization and the handling of farm laws protests, claiming that these policies caused widespread public suffering.
He further alleged that large corporate loan waivers amounting to significant sums were granted, while key sectors including coal, ports, airports, and energy were handed over to select business groups.
Call for Public Accountability
Sanjay Singh urged citizens to assess the government’s 12-year performance not on publicity campaigns but on ground realities such as unemployment, inflation, farmer distress, inequality, and institutional credibility.
He concluded by stating that the Prime Minister appears more focused on protecting the interests of a few industrialist friends than addressing the concerns of ordinary citizens, calling for a fair and critical evaluation of the government’s record.
