Bareilly: A review meeting on the progress of the PM Surya Ghar Yojana was held at the Vikas Bhavan auditorium under the chairmanship of DM Avinash Singh.
During the meeting, the District Magistrate observed that the number of loans being sanctioned and disbursed by banks under the scheme was comparatively low. Expressing dissatisfaction over the slow pace, he directed the concerned banks to improve their performance and expedite loan approvals.
Avinash Singh instructed officials and bank representatives to ensure that no application remains pending for an extended period. He also emphasised the need for regular surveys and monitoring of the scheme to ensure its effective implementation.
The District Magistrate directed the Lead Bank Manager to appoint a nodal officer in every bank branch to continuously monitor the progress of the scheme and ensure better coordination and execution.
He further instructed all branch managers to upload details of every sanctioned and disbursed loan related to the PM Surya Ghar Yojana on the official portal to maintain transparency and proper tracking.
Calling the scheme an ambitious initiative of both the Central and State Governments, Avinash Singh directed officials to treat its implementation on a priority basis.

He also instructed the District Basic Education Officer and Block Education Officers to motivate teachers and educational staff to avail the benefits of the scheme and encourage wider participation.
Warning banks against negligence, the District Magistrate said strict punitive action would be taken against any bank found involved in irregularities or unnecessary delays in loan disbursement under the scheme.
