Delegation of National Human Rights Foundation Meets District Magistrate Over Power Supply Crisis in Raebareli

Raebareli: A delegation of the National Human Rights Foundation met the District Magistrate of Raebareli on Monday to highlight the ongoing electricity supply crisis in the district following recent storm-related damage to the power infrastructure.

The delegation, led by National President Ajay Kumar Singh, submitted a memorandum urging the immediate restoration of disrupted electricity services. They were accompanied by District President Raebareli Surendra Pratap Singh along with several state-level office bearers of the organisation.

In their submission, the delegation stated that the electrical infrastructure was severely damaged during a storm and thunderstorm that occurred about a week ago, resulting in widespread disruption across the district. They noted that nearly half of the district’s population has been affected due to the prolonged outage.

They further highlighted that most feeders operated by various power stations are still not functioning properly due to a shortage of linemen and assistant linemen, which has delayed full restoration of services. The ongoing disruption, coupled with rising temperatures, has caused significant hardship for residents.

The delegation also expressed concern over the impact on agriculture, stating that farmers are facing delays in sowing Kharif crop nurseries due to the lack of electricity supply.

They urged the District Magistrate to direct the concerned department to expedite repair work and deploy additional linemen and assistant linemen at feeder points across the district to ensure swift restoration of power supply.

Several officials were present during the meeting, including Provincial Patron Uttar Pradesh Shailendra Pratap Singh, State Vice President Kalyan Shankar Mishra, Legal Advisor Uttar Pradesh Milind Dwivedi, and Block President Sadar Raebareli Himanshu Verma.

The delegation collectively urged prompt administrative intervention to restore normal electricity supply and provide relief to the affected population.
