Lucknow: A 35-year-old man lost his life after being allegedly hit by a car in the Mahanagar area of Lucknow late on Thursday night. Police have registered a case and initiated further legal proceedings in connection with the incident.
According to officials from Mahanagar Police Station, the complaint was lodged by Ataurrahman, a resident of Nishatganj, Lucknow.
In the complaint, he stated that his younger brother, Ajaz Urrahman, also known as Rahman Khan, had stepped out for a walk after dinner on the night of May 15, 2026. He was reportedly sitting near the residence of Anil Kumar Singh on Walda Road in Nishatganj when the incident occurred.
According to the complaint, at around 10:30 pm, the driver of a Grand i10 car bearing registration number UP 32 JE 4578 allegedly hit Ajaz Urrahman while parking the vehicle in a negligent manner, leaving him critically injured.

Family members immediately rushed the injured man to Bhaurao Deoras Hospital, from where he was referred to Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences due to his critical condition. However, doctors later declared him dead during treatment.
Based on the complaint, police registered a case under Sections 106(1) and 281 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) as Case Crime Number 81/2026 at Mahanagar Police Station.
Police officials said further legal action is being carried out in accordance with the law.
