Lucknow/Gautam Buddha Nagar | In a continued effort to promote transparency and enhance consumer trust in Uttar Pradesh’s real estate sector, the Uttar Pradesh Real Estate Regulatory Authority has launched its 38th Real Estate Agent Training Programme in Lucknow. The four-day programme commenced on Wednesday at the Indian Literacy Board campus located on Kanpur Road.
The initiative aims to equip participants with legal knowledge, professional competencies, and strong ethical values, preparing them to become certified and registered real estate agents. A total of 53 candidates have enrolled in this session.
The programme was inaugurated in the presence of UP RERA Secretary Mahendra Verma, Director of the Indian Literacy Board Sandhya Tiwari, and other senior officials. Speaking at the event, Sandhya Tiwari expressed confidence that the training would prove highly beneficial and knowledge-enhancing for all participants.
Secretary Mahendra Verma outlined the structure of the four-day programme and urged participants to actively and sincerely engage in all sessions. In his keynote address, he emphasized that the credibility of the real estate sector rests on three key pillars—developers, real estate agents, and regulatory authorities like UP RERA. He stressed the need for strong coordination among these stakeholders to safeguard consumer interests and strengthen the sector’s overall image.
He further noted that the training programme also provides a platform for participants to resolve doubts and gain a deeper understanding of key legislations such as the RERA Act, the Apartment Ownership Act, and the Transfer of Property Act. According to him, strengthening legal and professional awareness among agents is essential to prevent losses arising from a lack of knowledge.
Verma also announced that refresher courses will be organized periodically to ensure that agents remain updated with evolving rules and regulatory frameworks.
Key Sessions on Day One
The first day of training featured multiple expert-led sessions. Senior consultant Abrar Ahmed conducted a detailed session on the RERA Act and Uttar Pradesh RERA regulations. Adjudicating Officer Harish Tripathi explained important provisions of the Contract Act and the Transfer of Property Act.

A PMC consultant delivered insights on project registration processes and the responsibilities of promoters, while an Assistant Inspector General (Registration) discussed legal aspects related to stamp and registration laws.
Transparent Examination Process
A written examination will be conducted on the final day of the programme. To ensure fairness and integrity, the use of electronic devices such as mobile phones, tablets, smartwatches, and laptops will be strictly prohibited inside the examination hall. Candidates who pass the exam and complete the prescribed fee payment will be granted official registration as certified real estate agents.
Growing Impact of the Initiative
So far, a total of 37 such training programmes have been successfully conducted in Lucknow and Greater Noida, resulting in the registration of more than 2,750 candidates. Results up to the 32nd session have already been declared, with 1,320 participants successfully qualifying.
Officials highlighted that making training and certification mandatory prior to agent registration is a significant policy step aimed at building a professional workforce and protecting the interests of homebuyers.
The inauguration ceremony was also attended by Joint Secretary Krishna Kumar Singh, Assistant Director Amrish Kumar, Finance Advisor Sudhanshu Tripathi, Media Advisor Dr. Akash Yadav, R.C. Yadav, along with other officials and staff members.
