Dr. Mahesh Singh Assumes Charge as First Full-Time Librarian at Rohilkhand University Central Library

Bareilly: In a significant development for academic infrastructure, Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University has appointed Dr. Mahesh Singh as the full-time Librarian of its Central Library. He formally assumed charge on Saturday, marking the first-ever appointment of a regular librarian since the establishment of the university’s central library.

Until now, the responsibilities of the library had been managed as an additional charge by professors from various departments. Most recently, Professor Sanjay Mishra had been serving as the honorary librarian. Alongside this, Dr. Vineeta Jain has been newly appointed as the Deputy Librarian.

The appointments come after a long gap. Interviews for the posts of Assistant Librarian, Deputy Librarian, and Librarian were conducted in 2001, but due to the non-availability of suitable candidates, the positions of Librarian and Deputy Librarian remained vacant. Now, after nearly 25 years, these key posts have finally been filled.

On the occasion, Professor Sanjay Mishra, Deputy Librarian Dr. Subhash Chandra, and the entire library staff extended a warm welcome to Dr. Mahesh Singh and Dr. Vineeta Jain. The team expressed commitment to working collaboratively towards strengthening library services and academic resources.

The newly appointed officials also paid courtesy visits to the Vice-Chancellor, Registrar, and Finance Officer of the university, presenting them with bouquets.

The appointments are expected to enhance the functioning of the Central Library and provide a boost to academic and research activities within the university.
