Bareilly: Students from Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University have brought laurels to the institution with an impressive performance at the National Youth Parliament held at Miranda House in New Delhi.
Representing the university’s Cultural Centre, participants Deepanshu Deep and Sunaina Saxena showcased exceptional debating and analytical skills while discussing key issues and legislative bills. Deepanshu Deep took on the role of the opposition, while Sunaina Saxena presented arguments from the government’s side, both delivering compelling and well-structured viewpoints.
Their achievement was recognised by Vice-Chancellor Prof. K. P. Singh, who felicitated the students and praised their performance. He highlighted the significance of youth parliament programmes as academic simulations that help students develop leadership qualities, policy understanding, articulation skills, and the ability to engage with diverse perspectives.
“Such platforms enable students to understand parliamentary functioning and equip them with the skills to question, respond, and think critically. Participation in such events fosters originality and logical reasoning among the youth,” the Vice-Chancellor said.

University officials, including Registrar Harish Chand, Controller of Examinations Sanjeev Kumar Singh, Cultural Coordinator Dr. Jyoti Pandey, and Tapan Verma, extended their congratulations and best wishes to the students for their achievement.
The university administration reaffirmed its commitment to encouraging student participation in national-level platforms, emphasising that such experiences play a crucial role in shaping future leaders and informed citizens.
