Lucknow: Under the ongoing Mission Shakti 5.0 campaign, the Madeyganj police team organized an awareness programme in Gram Pataura and Anuvali Gali areas to educate women on safety, cyber crime, and government welfare schemes.
The initiative, themed “Education for Awareness, Strength for Safety – Madeyganj Police with Mission Shakti,” focused on empowering women at the grassroots level through direct community engagement. Around 15–20 local women participated in the programme.
During the session, police personnel provided detailed information about essential helpline numbers such as 112 (Emergency), 1090 (Women Power Line), 181 (Women Helpline), 1076 (Citizen Call Centre), and 1930 (Cyber Crime Helpline). Awareness was also created about the UP COP app, traffic safety norms, and the role of police assistance in emergencies.
Officials emphasized the importance of women’s empowerment, safety mechanisms, and legal rights. Participants were sensitized about various crimes against women, including domestic violence, cyber offences, and harassment, along with preventive measures and reporting mechanisms.
The programme also highlighted key government welfare schemes related to education, banking services, widow pensions, and other social support initiatives. Informational pamphlets were distributed to ensure continued awareness among participants.

The awareness drive was conducted by women police personnel including Head Constable Poonam Singh, Constables Asha, Reena Rao, Aanchal Singh, and Suman from Madeyganj police station.
Police officials stated that Mission Shakti 5.0, launched under the guidance of senior leadership in the Lucknow Commissionerate, aims to build a safer and more informed society by promoting awareness, education, and empowerment among women and children.
Authorities reiterated their commitment to continuing such outreach programmes to strengthen community-police relations and ensure that women feel secure, informed, and confident in exercising their rights.
