Lucknow: The Lucknow Traffic Police has issued a detailed traffic advisory for large vehicles, buses, commercial vehicles, and general traffic around Ekana Stadium on April 1, 2026, during the scheduled IPL match. The advisory will be in effect from 3:00 PM until the conclusion of the match, with multiple diversions and restrictions implemented to ensure smooth traffic flow.
Key Traffic Diversions and Restrictions:
- Vehicles from Kamta Shaheed Path Tiraha towards Sultanpur Road, Raebareli Road, or Ayodhya Road will be diverted via Kamta Tiraha → Indira Gandhi Pratishthan Chauraha → Samatamoolak Chauraha → Lalbatti Chauraha → Kariyappa Chauraha → Telibagh Chauraha → Barabirwa Chauraha → Indira Canal Chauraha → Kisan Path.
- Traffic from Shaheed Path Kanpur Road Tiraha towards Sultanpur, Raebareli, or Ayodhya Roads is restricted; vehicles will use Barabirwa → Bangalabazar → Telibagh → Kariyappa → Lalbatti → 1090 → Darogakheda → Kisan Path.
- Large/commercial vehicles from Gosaiganj Kasba Tiraha will be diverted via Amul Dairy Cutting → Left Vrindavan Yojana → Kabirpur → Kisan Path; direct travel to Ahimamau is prohibited.
- Vehicles from Utrethiya Underpass cannot use Shaheed Path towards Ahimamau Tiraha/Kamta Tiraha; diversions include Telibagh → Barabirwa → Kariyappa → Harikansh Gadhi → Kisan Path.
- Traffic from Husadiya Underpass cannot move towards Ahimamau/ Shaheed Path Kanpur Road Tiraha; vehicles will use the city route via 1090 Chauraha.
- Vehicles from Lalbatti Chauraha cannot move towards Ahimamau, Sultanpur, Raebareli, or Kanpur Roads; instead, they will follow Lalbatti → Kariyappa → Telibagh/Bangalabazar → Barabirwa.
- Vehicles from Sultanpur Road will be diverted from Amul Tiraha towards Shaheed Path using Lulu Mall Cutting → Shaheed Path.
- Vehicles from Sultanpur Road to Police Headquarters will be redirected via Ahimamau Chauraha → Right Turn.
- Traffic from Kamta Shaheed Path Tiraha to Kanpur is prohibited via Ahimamau ramp; vehicles must continue straight on Shaheed Path.
- U-turns at Ahimamau Chauraha from Shaheed Path are restricted between 2:00 PM and match end; vehicles must use Medanta Hospital U-turn.
- Traffic from Ahimamau Chauraha towards Plascio is fully restricted; vehicles will use HCL Tiraha → Sanskrit Tiraha → Overhead Gol Chakkar.
- Large vehicles from Sultanpur Road are prohibited via Ahimamau; alternate route via Kabirpur Tiraha → Kisan Path is allowed.
- Traffic pressure is expected on Shaheed Path between 2:00 PM – 9:00 PM; drivers heading towards Kanpur, Expressway, Barabirwa, or Amausi are advised to use alternate routes.
- Vehicles heading to Ekana Stadium parking must enter via Ahimamau Chauraha; Shaheed Path can be avoided using Arjunganj → Cantt route to reduce congestion.
