International Conference on Computing, Communication and Intelligent Systems Inaugurated at Amity University

Lucknow – The Amity School of Engineering & Technology (ASET), Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow Campus, inaugurated the 2nd IETE International Conference on Computing, Communication and Intelligent Systems (ICCCIS-2026) along with the IETE Zonal Seminar on Data Science, Communication and Information Security.

The two-day conference and seminar are being organised in collaboration with the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE), Lucknow Centre. The event has brought together eminent experts, academicians, faculty members, and students from across the country to deliberate on emerging trends and advancements in these critical domains.

The inaugural session was graced by Chief Guest Shri Sunil, President, IETE; Guest of Honour  Asif Siddiqui, Group Director, ISRO Telemetry Tracking and Command Network (ISTRAC), Lucknow; Dr. Arun Kumar Singh, Chairman, IETE Lucknow Centre; Wg. Cdr. (Dr.) Anil Tiwari, Deputy Pro Vice-Chancellor, Amity University Lucknow Campus; Prof. (Dr.) Namrata Dhanda, Head of Department, ASET; and Dr. K.K. Singh, Member, Executive Committee, IEEE UP Section. The dignitaries formally inaugurated the conference by lighting the ceremonial lamp.

Pro Vice Chancellor Amity University Lucknow Campus Professor (Dr.) Anil Vashisht was also graced the inaugural session.

Addressing the gathering, Chief Guest Shri Sunil highlighted the importance of such conferences in fostering collaboration among faculty, industry experts, and researchers. He emphasised that the future of engineering and technology lies in interdisciplinary collaboration and knowledge exchange. He also noted that the conference covers crucial areas such as data science, communication, and information security, and remarked that Indian innovations are poised to significantly transform communication technology and industry.

Guest of Honour  Asif Siddiqui spoke on the growing concerns around data security and privacy. He pointed out that users often rely on search engines without realising that the information displayed is curated. Citing 2024 data, he mentioned that India has approximately 85.3 crore WhatsApp users, making it the platform’s largest market. He further stated that multiple applications collectively generate nearly 181 zettabytes of data annually, much of which comprises personal information.

Describing data as the “new oil,”  Siddiqui explained that its true value emerges after processing. He also highlighted the financial risks associated with data breaches, citing an example where data of 7.1 million users from an electronics company was reportedly sold on the dark web at a price of rupee 2 per record.

Earlier, Wg. Cdr. (Dr.) Anil Tiwari welcomed the guests and presented mementoes. In his address, he stressed the need for interdisciplinary learning, stating that rapid global changes demand collaboration across diverse fields such as biotechnology, artificial intelligence, and quantum computing. He emphasised that such integration of disciplines is essential for future innovation.

The inaugural session concluded with a vote of thanks presented by Prof. (Dr.) Namrata Dhanda. The conference will feature six panel and technical sessions, along with poster presentations and expert talks by international speakers over the two days.
