Lucknow: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has strongly criticized the Uttar Pradesh government over the alleged use of identical question papers for Classes 6, 7, and 8 in council schools, calling it a serious lapse that jeopardizes the future of nearly 1.5 crore students.
Addressing a press conference in Lucknow, Mahendra Singh, State President of AAP’s Teachers’ Cell, accused the Yogi Adityanath-led government of “playing with the future of children” and reducing the education system to a mockery. He claimed that annual examinations, which began across the state on March 16, were conducted without completing the syllabus and with glaring irregularities.
Singh alleged that the same question paper was issued for all three classes, with only the class labels changed. Displaying copies to the media, he termed the incident “deeply shameful” and unprecedented in any credible education system.
He further pointed out that teachers had been engaged in non-academic duties for the past four months, including election-related work and board examinations, which prevented them from completing the syllabus. Despite this, the government proceeded with the exams, which he described as unjust to students.

Highlighting the social impact, Singh said that most students in council schools belong to Dalit and backward communities and depend entirely on government education. “Instead of strengthening their future, the government is neglecting their needs,” he said, accusing the administration of prioritizing divisive politics over education.
The AAP demanded a thorough investigation into the matter and strict action against those responsible for the preparation and distribution of the question papers. Singh also called for a transparent and accountable examination system to prevent such lapses in the future.
He asserted that the party would continue to raise the issue and fight against any compromise with the future of students in the state.
