Lucknow: The Uttarakhand Mahaparishad celebrated a grand Holi Milan Samaroh with great enthusiasm, showcasing vibrant cultural traditions and colourful festivities. The programme featured lively performances reflecting the rich heritage of the hill state and drew participation from hundreds of community members.
The event was held at the Ramlila Maidan, where members of the Uttarakhand community gathered to celebrate the festival of Holi with traditional fervour. Women dressed in traditional Pahadi attire while men also appeared in cultural dress, greeting each other with gulal and festive wishes.
The highlight of the celebration was the presentation of traditional Pahadi folk songs by women participants, which added charm and authenticity to the programme. The audience enjoyed a colourful cultural segment reflecting the spirit of the hills, followed by a community feast at the end of the event.
The chief guest at the ceremony was Nandan Singh Bora, who addressed the gathering and emphasized the message of unity and affection associated with the festival. He said that just as colours blend with anything they touch, people too should embrace one another with love and mutual respect, as harmony and goodwill define a person’s character.
President of the council Harish Chandra Pant thanked the attendees for their participation and noted that Holi is a festival that beautifully reflects the spirit of social harmony and togetherness.

General Secretary Bharat Singh Bisht called upon members of the community to remain united and work collectively for the progress of society, stating that unity is the greatest strength of any community.
Among those present were Diwan Singh Adhikari, President of the Ramlila Committee; General Secretary Bipin Singh; and community members Naveen Chaudhary, Pankaj Kharkwal, Vinod Sanwal and Ashok Negi, along with several others who joined the festivities.
The celebration concluded on a cheerful note, with participants exchanging greetings, enjoying cultural performances and sharing a community meal, reinforcing bonds of friendship and cultural pride.
