Teaser of RSS Centenary Film ‘Shatak: 100 Years of the Sangh’ Unveiled

Mumbai: The teaser of the film ‘Shatak: 100 Years of the Sangh’, produced to mark the completion of 100 years of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), has been released recently. The film seeks to chronicle the organisation’s century-long journey, its core ideology, and its social contributions that have shaped India’s socio-cultural landscape.

The RSS completed 100 years in 2025, a milestone that forms the foundation of the film. Shatak narrates the story of an organisation whose influence has extended across generations. As part of the film’s promotions, the song ‘Bhagwa Hai Apni Pehchaan’ was unveiled at the RSS headquarters, Keshav Kunj in Delhi, by RSS Chief Dr Mohan Bhagwat. Sung by renowned playback singer Sukhwinder Singh, the patriotic track captures the spirit and central theme of the film.

The teaser indicates that the film also addresses long-standing misconceptions and misunderstandings associated with the RSS. Rather than limiting itself to debates or controversies, Shatak aims to present historical facts, ideological evolution, and organisational growth in a broader and balanced context. The film offers glimpses into the RSS’s role during the freedom movement, periods when the organisation faced bans, and significant phases such as the Emergency.

Director Ashish Mall described the project as a deeply personal experience, stating that extensive research helped uncover lesser-known aspects of the RSS that are rarely discussed in the public domain. According to him, the film prioritises presenting facts with honesty and clarity to address prevailing misconceptions.

Producer Veer Kapoor said the film is based on books, documents, and available historical material. He noted that the objective was to weave the RSS’s ideological tradition into a cohesive narrative using the language of cinema. Highlighting the organisation’s continuity, he added that among several movements that emerged between 1875 and 1950, the RSS stood out for progressing steadily without fragmentation. The film’s tagline, ‘Na Ruke, Na Thake, Na Jhuke’ (Never Stop, Never Tire, Never Bow), reflects this enduring spirit.

Co-produced by Ashish Tiwari, Shatak: 100 Years of the Sangh is presented by ADA 360 Degree LLP. Based on a concept by Anil D. Agrawal and directed by Ashish Mall, the film is scheduled for a nationwide theatrical release on February 19, 2026.
