New Delhi | The Passing Out Parade (POP) of the 02/25 batch of trainees will be held at INS Chilka on January 8, 2026, marking the successful completion of 16 weeks of intensive ab-initio training. This rigorous training programme equips recruits with the discipline, resilience, and professional competence required to meet the demands of modern naval operations.
The passing-out batch comprises around 2,700 trainees, including approximately 2,100 Agniveers, of whom over 110 are women. The ceremony represents a significant milestone as the Agniveers and other trainees formally begin their journey of service in the Indian Navy.

The parade will be reviewed by Vice Admiral Sameer Saxena, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Naval Command, who will attend as the Chief Guest and review the post-sunset ceremony. The event will also be witnessed by the proud families of the trainees, along with distinguished veterans and eminent sports personalities.
The Passing Out Parade highlights the Indian Navy’s strong emphasis on training as the foundation of a professional and combat-ready force. INS Chilka, one of the Navy’s premier training establishments, continues to play a pivotal role in transforming civilian recruits into capable sailors, ready to serve aboard advanced naval platforms across diverse operational environments.

Following the parade, the Chief Guest will preside over the Valedictory Function, during which awards and trophies will be presented to meritorious trainees and the Champion Division. On the occasion, the bilingual trainees’ magazine ‘Ankur’ will also be unveiled.
The ceremony will be live streamed on the Indian Navy’s YouTube channel, Facebook page, and the regional Doordarshan network, allowing viewers across the country to witness the momentous occasion.
