KASGANJ, Uttar Pradesh | A wedding celebration in Uttar Pradesh’s Kasganj district turned into a heartbreaking tragedy when a heated argument over DJ music escalated into a deadly attack. In the early hours of Monday, an enraged youth drove his car into a group of baraatis, killing three close relatives of the groom.
DJ Dispute Turns Violent
The incident occurred at the ZS Palace Guest House in Ganjdundwara, where the wedding rituals of Vikas, son of Ramsanehi Yadav, were underway. According to police, the dispute erupted around 3 a.m. when a disagreement over DJ music volume and song selection led to a verbal clash between several attendees.
Among those involved was Kaushal Yadav, a resident of Nagla Malkhan under Jaithra police station in neighbouring Etah district. Witnesses said Kaushal became increasingly agitated during the argument and walked out of the venue in anger.
Youth Rams Car Into Guests
A few guests followed him outside in an attempt to pacify him, but before they could intervene, Kaushal allegedly entered his car, sped towards the road, and intentionally rammed the vehicle into a group of groom’s relatives standing at the entrance.
The victims—
-
Suresh Chandra (55), groom’s uncle (tāu)
-
Girish Chandra (50), groom’s uncle (chacha)

-
Brijesh (50), groom’s maternal uncle (mausa)
—were critically injured after being hit by the speeding vehicle.
They were rushed to a nearby hospital, but despite efforts by doctors, all three succumbed to their injuries during treatment. The deaths plunged the groom’s family into deep shock, turning a night meant for celebration into one of unbearable grief.
Police Begin Investigation
Local police reached the spot, sent the bodies for post-mortem, and initiated a detailed probe into the incident. Efforts are underway to trace and arrest the accused, who fled after the hit-and-run.
Authorities noted that a moment of uncontrolled anger led to an irreversible tragedy, claiming three innocent lives and leaving families devastated. Police officials have appealed for calm, stressing that such violent reactions during social gatherings can destroy multiple lives in an instant.
The investigation is ongoing.
