Lucknow: Under the guidance and inspiration of Hon’ble Governor of Uttar Pradesh, Smt. Anandiben Patel, a series of theatrical presentations by the PSO (Personal Staff Officer) team of Raj Bhavan were organized at the University of Lucknow. The event took place at the A.P. Sen Auditorium at 11 a.m. under the leadership of Vice-Chancellor Professor Manuka Khanna.
The program witnessed enthusiastic participation from both students and faculty members, reflecting the growing interest in theatre and performing arts within the university. In her address, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Manuka Khanna expressed heartfelt gratitude to Governor Anandiben Patel for her continued encouragement and guidance and urged students to explore their creative potential in the field of drama and cultural expression.
Three impactful plays were staged by the Raj Bhavan PSO team — “Zahar Nahi, Jeevan Chunein” (Choose Life, Not Poison), “Ek Din Mobile Bin” (A Day Without Mobile), and “Raksha Bandhan Ka Tohfa” (The Gift of Raksha Bandhan). The third play highlighted various government welfare schemes, including the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and Jan Aushadhi Yojana.
The performances received wide appreciation from the audience, who lauded the creative storytelling and the social messages woven into each act. The PSO members of Raj Bhavan showcased their remarkable acting skills, leaving a strong impression on the attendees.
The event aimed to raise awareness about social issues and India’s rich cultural heritage, while also fostering an appreciation for the performing arts. The auditorium was packed with students, professors, and theatre enthusiasts who thoroughly enjoyed the presentations.
The plays were directed by Kamal Kumar Yadav, PSO, Raj Bhavan. The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Professor Anoop Bharatiya, who extended deep gratitude to Governor Anandiben Patel for her inspiration and appreciated the artistic efforts of the performers. The ceremony concluded with the National Anthem, marking a fitting end to a culturally enriching day at the University of Lucknow.
