Lucknow: A Mega General Health Camp was organized near Husainabad Clock Tower (Ghantaghar) under the Uttar Pradesh State AIDS Control Programme, operated by the Samagra Suraksha Kendra of Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Civil Hospital, Lucknow. The camp, held from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., was chaired by Chief Medical Superintendent Dr. D.C. Pandey, who also inaugurated the event by cutting the ribbon.

The programme’s special guest, Dr. Suresh Ahirwar, was felicitated with a bouquet during the opening ceremony. The initiative aimed to extend comprehensive health services and awareness to the community under one platform.

The camp saw active participation from CPM Pushkar Singh and Samagra Suraksha Kendra Manager Aamir Khan, who supervised the health checkups and community outreach activities. A wide range of medical and diagnostic services were offered, including HIV counseling and testing, Syphilis screening, STI management, TB, Sugar, Hepatitis B & C testing, antenatal checkups, adolescent counseling, child immunization, and family planning consultations.

A team of doctors — Dr. Rashmi Sharma, Dr. Ashwini, Dr. Ajay Kumar Sharma, Dr. Amit Patel, and Dr. Vaishali Singh — provided healthcare services throughout the day.

Representatives from various supporting organizations contributed to the camp’s success. These included Pankaj from the ART Centre, KGMU, all ICTC and STI counselors, and Samagra Suraksha counselors including Saumya Pandey, Meenawati, and Guddi (SSKLT). Adding to the awareness efforts, ANMs, ASHA workers, and volunteers organized street plays (nukkad natak) and a magic show to engage the public and spread vital health information in an interactive way.

The event logistics and arrangements were efficiently managed by Aamir Khan (SSK Manager), Pushkar Singh (CPM), and the Samagra Suraksha Kendra team, ensuring smooth execution of the camp and effective delivery of healthcare services to the local community.
