Noida International Airport Security Handed Over to CISF; 120 Personnel Deployed Initially

Noida: The security of Noida International Airport in Jewar, Uttar Pradesh, has officially been handed over to the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), marking a significant step toward operational readiness ahead of the airport’s inauguration. A formal handover ceremony was held on Monday at the airport premises, attended by senior officials from the Airport Authority of India (AAI), Zurich Airport construction team, Yamuna Authority, local police, and CISF. During the ceremony, the CISF flag was hoisted, and the airport security responsibility was formally entrusted to the force.

Special DG Inspects Airport Premises

The CISF’s Special Director General participated in the event and conducted a thorough inspection of the airport, including the terminal building and other critical areas. CISF, which has been responsible for securing 69 airports across the country, now takes charge of Noida International Airport as its 70th facility. Since 2000, CISF has gradually expanded its airport security operations and is recognized for its professionalism and high operational standards.

Initial Deployment and Full-Scale Security Plan

Initially, 120 CISF personnel have been deployed to secure the airport. Once the first phase of the airport is fully operational, the deployment will scale up to 1,047 personnel. These officers will ensure the safety of passengers, aircraft, and infrastructure across all airport zones. CISF and airport management teams have already coordinated to implement advanced security systems, machinery installations, and safety protocols, strengthening overall security readiness.

State-of-the-Art Facilities at Jewar Airport

Noida International Airport has been developed with cutting-edge technology. The first phase features 27 aircraft parking stands, including two dedicated for cargo operations, along with a terminal building comprising 13 boarding gates — 10 passenger boarding bridges and 3 bus gates. These facilities aim to provide enhanced passenger experiences and allow for rapid aircraft turnaround services.

Inauguration Scheduled for October 30

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to inaugurate the airport on October 30, 2025. Terminal finishing work is progressing rapidly, and officials claim that the airport will offer a world-class travel experience, promote sustainable development, and establish new connectivity standards. Beyond improving regional employment opportunities, the airport is expected to give a significant boost to India’s aviation sector. With CISF taking charge of security, passengers can expect enhanced safety and operational reliability, further strengthening the airport’s credibility.
