KGMU Doctors’ Skills and Experience Are Remarkable: Dr. Dinesh Sharma

LucknowRajya Sabha MP and former Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Dr. Dinesh Sharma, has stressed the need to stop the brain drain from India, highlighting that doctors of King George’s Medical University (KGMU) are far ahead of those in private institutions in terms of skill and experience.

Dr. Sharma was speaking as the chief guest at a special ceremony held at KGMU to mark the birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the occasion of Vishwakarma Jayanti. In a symbolic gesture, boondi laddoos were offered to Lord Ganesha instead of cake.

Addressing students, Dr. Sharma said that doctors are like gods to patients, recalling how the COVID-19 pandemic proved that compassion, treatment, and patient confidence are key to overcoming illness. He underlined the importance of enthusiasm, determination, and goal-setting during student life, while pointing out the growing demand for skilled professionals in the paramedical sector.

“A doctor becomes dear to God and more capable only through sincere treatment and dedicated service,” Dr. Sharma remarked.

On this occasion, KGMU Vice-Chancellor Padma Shri Dr. Sonia Nityanand inaugurated the new batch of paramedical students and administered the oath of integrity and dedication to them.

The event was also attended by Dean Prof. K.K. Singh, Pro Vice-Chancellor Dr. Kaur, Dr. Vinod Jain, and several eminent doctors and faculty members. Students actively participated in cultural and academic competitions, with winners being felicitated during the program.
