Lucknow – The 22nd National Book Fair at Balrampur Garden, Ashok Marg, saw an early rush of book lovers on its fourth day, as multiple book releases and discussions drew readers’ attention.
Among the newly released books were Rajgopal Singh Verma’s “Taki Sanad Rahe” on the Emergency period, “Marxwadi Chintan Kosh” edited by Kamal Nayan Choubey, Ram Puniyani’s “Lahuluhan Kashmir” and “Tadpati Kashmiriyat”, along with Raju Sharma’s novel “Garibjade” and Rajni Gupta’s “Just Chill Yaar”. Sasta Sahitya Mandal showcased works on prominent Hindi essayists like Acharya Ramchandra Shukla and Pratap Narayan Mishra, while Satya Priya Pandey’s “Lok Sahitya ka Samajshastra” also attracted attention.
A highlight of the day was the release of “Evolution of Art and Artist” by eminent painter Prof. Sukhveer Singhal, inaugurated by Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak in the presence of U.P. Lalit Kala Academy former chairman Sitaram Kashyap, Akhilesh Nigam, and other dignitaries. The book, compiled over twelve years, has now been published after digitalization and meticulous editing.

Another major release was “Kaikeyi Ke Ram” by journalist Rahis Singh, published by Vani Prakashan, discussed by Acharya Mithilesh Nandini Sharan, who noted that Kaikeyi played a pivotal role in shaping the epic’s Ram. Singh emphasized his aim to challenge prevailing misconceptions about Kaikeyi.

Additionally, Malini Awasthi’s “Chandan Kivaar” explored folk culture, highlighting traditional women-led performance arts, while discussions on Dr. Usha Sinha’s contributions were held under the chairmanship of Sultan Shakir Hashmi, with scholars and writers sharing insights.
Flydream Publications also showcased “Ghungroo”, a 75th book in its collection of short stories by Sanjeev Jaiswal, incorporating modern themes of suspense and mythology. The day concluded with a cultural performance by artists from the Aparajita Organization, adding vibrancy to the fair.
