Two Notorious Thieves Arrested in Lucknow, Cash and Jewelry Recovered

Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh – In a significant breakthrough, the Madiaon police station in Lucknow has arrested two notorious thieves, bringing an end to a series of recent burglaries in the area. Police have recovered valuables worth lakhs of rupees, including jewelry, cash, and tools used in their crimes, from the accused.

Arrest Operation

The arrests were made on Monday by the Madiaon police team near Bhitauli Tirahe. While conducting routine checks for suspicious individuals, the team received a tip-off about some suspicious youths with stolen goods near Koyla Dhalaan. Acting swiftly on the information, the police cordoned off the area and apprehended both suspects.

Accused Identified

The arrested individuals have been identified as:

  • Ajmal, son of Arshad, approximately 25 years old, a battery rickshaw driver residing near M.D. Marriage Hall, Chor Ghati, Thakurganj, Lucknow.
  • Riyaz, son of Liyaqat, approximately 30 years old, a clothes vendor residing in Ramnagar, Saadatganj, Lucknow.

Recovered Items

The police recovered the following items from the accused:

  • 2 gold chains (total weight: 18.160 grams)
  • 4 rings (10.300 grams)
  • 2 pairs of gold earrings (2.900 grams)
  • 2 silver bowls (35.930 grams)
  • 2 pairs of anklets (43.140 grams)
  • 2 silver bangles (17.030 grams)
  • 1 silver spoon (8.400 grams)
  • 6 silver coins
  • 2 mobile phones
  • ₹20,000/- in cash
  • 1 chisel (tool used in theft)

Cases Filed and Criminal History

Police stated that five cases have been registered against the two accused at Madiaon police station under various sections of the BNS, including 305(a), 305, 317(2), 317(4), 331(4), and 304(2), based on the recovered items.

Authorities revealed that Ajmal has a previous criminal record, having been named in four cases under Sections 379, 411, and 380 at PGI police station. Riyaz is also a repeat offender, with more than eight serious cases filed against him in various Lucknow police stations, including those related to gang activity, theft, and the Arms Act.

Legal Proceedings Underway

The arrested individuals have been informed of their charges, and legal proceedings have been completed. Police confirmed that all guidelines from the Human Rights Commission and the Supreme Court were followed during the arrest and interrogation. Both accused are being presented before the court for further investigation, and information about their other criminal records has been sought from relevant police stations.
