New Delhi: Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla will lead the Indian parliamentary delegation to the 11th BRICS Parliamentary Forum, scheduled to be held in Brasília, Brazil, from June 3 to 5. An official statement confirmed the visit, outlining the key themes and delegates attending the global parliamentary event.

The delegation will include Deputy Chairman of Rajya Sabha Harivansh, Members of Parliament Surendra Singh Nagar, Vijay Baghel, Vivek Thakur, Shabari Baireddy, Lok Sabha Secretary General Utpal Kumar Singh, and Rajya Sabha Secretary General P.C. Mody.

Key Themes and Participating Nations

This year’s overarching theme is:
“The Role of BRICS Parliaments in Building a More Inclusive and Sustainable Global Governance”.

The forum will host parliamentarians from the BRICS+ bloc, which now includes:
Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, the UAE, Ethiopia, Indonesia, and Iran.

In addition, presiding officers and parliamentarians from Belarus, Bolivia, Kazakhstan, Cuba, Nigeria, Malaysia, Thailand, Uganda, and Uzbekistan have also been invited to participate.
