Lucknow – A major anti-encroachment drive in the Amausi village area of Sarojininagar tehsil successfully reclaimed valuable government land from illegal occupation. The operation, led by a joint team of the Municipal Corporation and tehsil administration, is being hailed as a significant step towards protecting public property and maintaining law and order.
No Resistance Could Stand Against the Administration
Acting on directives issued by the Divisional Commissioner of Lucknow and the Municipal Commissioner, officials moved swiftly to clear encroachments on government land. Despite initial resistance from local encroachers, the operation proceeded peacefully and without any major confrontation, a success attributed to the efficient coordination of administrative forces on the ground.
9.611 Hectares Under Scrutiny, 3.036 Hectares Reclaimed
The drive focused on Gata Number 806 Ch, a 9.611-hectare plot of land recorded as usar (barren land) in government revenue records and officially owned by the Lucknow Municipal Corporation. A portion of this land—0.126 hectares—had been unlawfully built upon by local individuals attempting temporary construction. Under the supervision of Sanjay Yadav, property in-charge of the corporation, the encroachments were demolished using JCB machines.

The operation was led by a team formed under Additional Municipal Commissioner Namrata Singh, and included Tehsildar Arvind Pandey, Naib Tehsildar Ratnesh Kumar, Revenue Inspector Avinash Chandra Tiwari, and Lekhpal officials Ajit Tiwari, Rahul Yadav, and Sanjay Shukla from Sarojininagar tehsil.
Heavy Police Presence Ensured Smooth Execution
Security was ensured by Sarojininagar police station, which provided adequate police force at the site. The Municipal Corporation’s Emergency Task Force (ETF) also supported the action, ensuring that the encroachers’ protest was quickly and effectively neutralized.

Land Worth ₹1.5 Crore Freed for Government Project
A total of 3.036 hectares of land was cleared from illegal possession to pave the way for an approved government development project. Experts have estimated the current market value of the reclaimed land to be approximately ₹1.5 crore. Officials stated that the cleared land would now be used for public benefit as per the sanctioned plan.
Continuous Action Against Encroachment to Continue
The Municipal Corporation has made it clear that such anti-encroachment actions will continue across the city to protect government land from illegal possession. The administration has reaffirmed its commitment to enforcing property rights and taking swift action against any unauthorized construction in the future.
This drive marks yet another step in the government’s ongoing campaign to uphold rule of law and ensure that public resources are preserved for legitimate development.
