Traffic Inspector Venkateshwar Singh Cracks Down on Illegal Transport Vehicles at Kamta Crossing

Lucknow : In a significant traffic enforcement drive led by Gomtinagar Traffic Inspector Venkateshwar Singh, 16 illegal passenger vehicles were seized at Kamta Crossing under the direction of the Deputy Commissioner of Police. The operation aimed to curb the growing menace of “Dagga Maar” (unauthorized public transport) vehicles operating in violation of permit and registration conditions.

The surprise crackdown, executed with a dedicated team of traffic personnel, targeted vehicles involved in unauthorized ferrying of passengers, especially those collecting random commuters without valid permits.

During the operation, 16 vehicles—including 11 Ertigas and 5 buses—were found blatantly violating transport regulations. The seized vehicles were taken into custody and sent to the Traffic Police Line in Kalli Paschim for further legal proceedings.

This proactive measure is part of a broader campaign to ensure road safety, reduce congestion, and hold accountable those who flout the Motor Vehicles Act by endangering commuter lives through unregulated operations.

Authorities have warned vehicle owners and drivers to adhere strictly to permit guidelines and registration conditions or face similar action.
